Pre-K and K: Movers and Shakers (classroom style teaching)

1st – 5th Grade: “Big City Studio” Children’s Church
8:30, 9:45 and 11:00 Services
Directors: 2 per service (8:30, 9:45 and 11:00)
The two Directors will team teach each week at their designated hour. They can also teach individually if one is not available on a specific week.
The Director is the main teacher. They must have the spiritual gift of teaching. They will relate to the kids on a mature level, while still engaging them and interacting with them during the lesson. Curriculum is prepared in advance for them.
The Cast/Recurring Roles: 3 characters per service needed
Scripts are provided. Small memorization would be required, while still allowing some ad-libbing. These are great positions for youth volunteers. All positions could be changed from male to female or visa versa.
Haywood: Director’s assistant. He is a well-meaning nerd who constantly bumbles everything he attempts. He brings humor and slapstick to the program while providing the Director opportunities to clarify the lesson. He is a Christian but has limited understanding about the Word of God.
Heather DeShay: Heather is a self-centered movie star who thinks with her emotions. She normally provides tension on the set which allows God’s Word the opportunity to shed light on the situation. Heather is a spoiled actress.
Joe Nitro: The ideal role model, Joe is a cool stuntman who loves God and has a surprising knowledge of God’s Word. If you want the kids to look up to anyone besides the Director, Joe is the one. He projects his compassion for people and knowledge of God in any situation. He is humble but confident.
Ushers: 2 per service (8:30, 9:45 and 11:00)
This position will help with check-in, offering and be available to assist the Director with any on the spot needs such as crowd control, score keeping, passing out handouts, etc.
Back Stage Hands: Help is needed each week to set up the chairs and the stage platform. Most of the time this can be done either Saturday afternoon/evening (pending the Fellowship Hall is open) or Sunday morning by 8:00 a.m. Help will also be needed to take the same down after the 11:00 service.
Requirements for each position:
A love for the Lord; A love for children; A love to share the Word of
God with children.
A willingness and commitment to prepare for the lesson you will be
sharing.
The ability to engage with the kids and relate to them, while still
maintaining order.
Must be dependable.
