This is a special service where those who have lost a loved one can come, feel safe and pray and fellowship with others who are dealing with loss as well. During this service the names of loved ones are read and family members are invited to rise and receive a special blessing. Because the holiday season is a tough time for those who have experienced losses, this service is held in the month of December. This year our service will be on Sunday, December 14th at 5:00 p.m. Refreshments will be served in the Fellowship Hall following the service. Please contact
for more information.
Service of Forgiveness and Healing
The Service of Forgiveness and Healing is not necessarily a service of curing, but it provides an atmosphere in which healing can happen. The greatest healing of all is the reunion or reconciliation of a human being with God. When this happens, physical healing sometimes occurs, mental and emotional balance is often restored, spiritual health is enhanced, and relationships are healed. The New Testament records that Jesus himself healed and estranged the sick and sent out disciples on ministries of healing. James calls us to pray for and anoint the sick, that they may be healed.
"Is any one of you sick? He should call the elders of the church to pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise him up. If he has sinned, he will be forgiven. Therefore, confess your sin to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed." James 5:14-16a
National Day of Prayer Service
This special service of prayer is held on the first Thursday of May. We come together as Christians to worship and pray. We raise up prayers for ourselves; for others; for the needs of our congregation; the community; and the world. For more information please visit the National Day of Prayer website.
