Mission Trip to Jamaica Provides Medical and Dental Care
Photo Album Available on Facebook

From January 30th through February 12th, a group of six people from the New Prague area will be providing medical and dental care and sharing Christ with the underserved of Manchester Parish(county) in Jamaica. There will be 54 people from all over the U.S. on this trip.  The sponsoring group is “H2 Jamaica”, which means Hope and Health to Jamaica. Heaven’s Helping Hands is one of several partners in this mission. A portion of the funds that have been raised by Heaven’s Helping Hands for international missions are used to help this team headed to Jamaica purchase dental and medical supplies. The team will again have several hundred scriptures to distribute that were provided by the Gideon’s International organization. Please be in pray for the participants in this mission as they share the Gospel of Jesus Christ to these people through meeting some of their medical and dental needs, witnessing and distributing Scriptures to them. Tanzania Update
Bega Kwa Bega! In Tanzania that phrase means shoulder to shoulder, side by side, hand in hand. It is the program name for our partnership with our sister congregation in Tanzania. Although one is in Africa and the other in Minnesota, we work and stand bega kwa bega as we grow in faith and carry on the work of Jesus Christ. One way we partner with our sister congregation in Tanzania is through school scholarships. The need for scholarship sponsorship is created in part by the economic conditions within Tanzania. Students and their families are asked to co-pay for their education.

The problem is that most families do not have any cash to contribute towards a student’s education. Not many Iringa area students are attending secondary schools because they (and their families) cannot afford the school fees. These fees generally cost about $350 US per year. While that may not be a huge amount for Americans, it is an insurmountable amount for most Tanzanians. How can you help? Currently, we sponsor 23 secondary students at the Mbuyuni school in the Iringa District, through individual donations. Some of our students still need sponsors for the upcoming year. We have received some letters from those students that were sponsored this past year. Deb and Tim Miller would love to share with you about their individual stories. Would you or your small group be interested in sponsoring a student? Contact Tim and Deb Miller at 758-4477 for information.

Sharing Tree Update

THANK YOU! Through your generous giving, 339 gifts were purchased and 89 individuals in 39 families were blessed through this year’s Sharing Tree. Holy Trinity was one of the participants in this area’s Adopt-A-Family outreach where 325 families were served. Thank you Mary Hanson-Busch, Julie Popple, and Becky Cox for your efforts and time in organizing our church’s partnership in this local outreach.
