What We Believe
- We believe in the creating and sustaining God over all creation, who out of his great love for the world and each person, entered the world as fully God and man in the person of his Son Jesus Christ, who lived, suffered, died and was raised on behalf of all humanity.
- We believe that a person is justified and saved solely by God’s grace, through faith in Jesus Christ (Ephesians 2:8-10).
- We believe in the Holy Spirit who works to sanctify the church.
- We believe in the historical and ecumenical confessions of the Christian Church, including the Apostles’ Creed, Nicene Creed and the Lutheran Confessions.
- We believe in the two Sacraments of Holy Baptism and Communion as the means of God’s grace and as tangible, visible manifestations of the way God comes to us.
- We believe in the Great Commission, that is, our calling to go and make disciples of Jesus Christ by baptizing and teaching people in the Christian faith (Matthew 28:19-20).
- We believe in the two Great Commandments: to love God with all our heart, soul, mind and strength, and to love our neighbors as ourselves (Mark 12:28-31).
